Fort Burgoyne

Fort Burgoyne was purposely built to defend the landward side of Dover Castle in 1861 and holds a Scheduled Monument Status. The fort is maintained by English Heritage and Natural England but had fallen into disrepair and a Stabilisation Plan was then implemented.

Walmer Castle

Walker Construction were very proud to complete the £1.4 million project at Walmer Castle in Deal, which comprised rejuvenating parts of the castle’s historic gardens; revived and reunited the areas of the gardens known as the Glen and the Paddock.

St John's Primary School

St John’s Primary School project was a £1.2M refurbishment scheme. Encompassing the underpinning, Helifix, renovation, refurbishment and retrofitting to an old 1800’s school; including asbestos removal and mechanical & electrical re-design and improving the schools thermos efficiency.   

Bishop Justus

We have completed the works on a £3.6 million project at Bishop Justus C of E School in Bromley, which comprised of the complete design, construction and completion of a series of one and two storey extensions, plus localised works to the existing building and construction of a small car park.

White Cliffs Primary College

White Cliffs has gone onto be an award winning success.

East Kent College

Walker Construction completed a bespoke design and build project at East Kent College. The works comprised of a major refurbishment to the existing three story Achieve Building and the construction of a new bespoke two-storey performing arts building.

Hilton Dentistry

Works to the dentist surgery consisted of the reconfiguration of the internal building, refurbishment throughout the practice and the conversion of the first floor of the premises to incorporate three new dental surgery rooms, a conference room and two upgraded restroom facilities with generous disabled access incorporated throughout.

Rochester Fire Station

Walker Construction (leaguecommittee.com) Ltd were awarded the contract to build two new Fire and Rescue Stations at Rochester and Medway, the new Fire Station at Rochester is situated on a new site next to Rochester airport, the station also features a new state of the art Road Safety Centre attached to the station for training and educating the general public and schools, as well as a purpose built steel training tower building for Fire Officer training.

Brompton Barracks

Walker Construction has completed a design and build project at Brompton Barracks for the Ministry of Defence.

Sittingbourne Retail Park

The works at Sittingbourne Retail Park involved alterations and refurbishment works to two existing retail units.

Lidl

Walker Construction (leaguecommittee.com) Ltd was awarded the contract to construct a new backnische extension and condenser area to the east elevation of the existing Lidl store in New Milton.

Norman Tailyour House

A major £2.5m redevelopment has been completed at Norman Tailyour House in central Deal. The project was to renovate the residential facility to provide 18 fully self-contained sheltered residential Council flats to Dover District Council. The renovated Council-owned building in Hope Road, Deal, includes 16 one-bedroom flats and 2 two-bedroom flats in a supported housing environment.

Flanchford Bridge

The beginning of this project consisted of the temporary damming of the River Mole to enable the existing bridge to be removed. We had to temporarily divert the utility services across the river using a scaffold bridge. Temporary foundations either side of the river were then created to support the heavy plant required to install the sheet piles and CFA Piles.

Southall Towpath

Walker Construction were awarded the £1.1m Design and Build contract to upgrade and construct a new towpath alongside the Paddington Branch of the Grand Union Canal for our client Berkeley West Thames and in partnership with the Canal and River Trust.

Nicholls Transport Yard

Nicholls Transport is based in Kent and provides tailor-made haulage operations for blue chip clients throughout the leaguecommittee.com, Northern France, Belgium and The Netherlands. Nicholls Transport contacted Walker Construction to assist them with their vision of a new, state of the art logistics park.

Tidal Basin Road

The works at Tidal Basin were for three work packages these being trial holes, Section 278 works and hard and soft landscaping.

Biggleswade

This project was for the upgrade and widening of the existing carriageway into a dual carriageway on London Road, Biggleswade.

Clapham Depot

As part of the Department for Transport HLOS scheme, plans were developed to increase rolling stock numbers on the Wessex Route which is operated by Stagecoach South West Trains.

Dalston Kingsland Booking Hall

Walker Construction was employed to carry out refurbishment works at Dalston Kingsland Overground Station. The existing booking hall at the station was constructed in the 1980’s. It was decided due to increased usage of the Overground network the existing booking hall and gateline was insufficient to handle the passenger flow at peak times. To the immediate left of station was an existing disused retail unit that was to be incorporated into the station booking wall.

Crystal Palace

The project at Crystal Palace Train Station was commissioned from a requirement for the station to upgrade passenger capacity improvement works.

Blacksole Footbridge

This project was to complete a Design & Build contract for the construction of a new 52 metre pedestrian/cycleway bridge. This included associated works of footpaths and lighting to provide access to the new Altira Business Park in Herne Bay, Kent in collaboration with NuSteel Structures, WSS Construction Consultants (our internal Design Division), Urban & Civic and Kent County Council.

Spalding Railway Station

May 2020 Walkers were instructed by Amco to undertake Platform Re-gauging works and Platform surfacing with block paving. Other works combined with the surfacing was the installation of new Aco drainage with a large capacity water soakaway system to the rear of the Platform.
